M5 - Working Mothers 100 Best Companies essay

M5 - Working Mothers 100 Best Companies essay M5 Working Mothers 100 Best Companies essay M5 Working Mothers 100 Best Companies essayToday, employment opportunities for mothers is an important issue because many women view pregnancy and childbirth as the end to their professional career and development. However, today, many companies grow more and more concerned with the creation of favorable conditions for working mothers but their efforts are often insufficient to meet all needs of working mothers.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   At this point, it is possible to refer to the experience of Chrysler Group. Chrysler Group is one of the largest US car manufacturers. At the same time, car manufacturing industry was traditionally perceived as male domain with a large share of male employees. However, Chrysler Group has opened new job opportunities for women. For example, the company employed 36% of women in 2012. Therefore, the share of women working in the company increases. At the same time, the company provides women with an opportunity to retain their positio n in the company, even in case of childbirth. To put it more precisely, the company provides seven weeks of the maternity leave for women that means that women working in the company can take the maternity leave for seven weeks at average that is quite a long period compared to other companies, like Allstate Insurance, for example.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   On the other hand, the company still does not provide child backup care or sick child care that means that the company still focuses on its employees rather than on their family needs. In practical terms, this means that if a child fell ill frequently, female employees will have difficulties with their further employment in the company.

Nurse Practitioner vs. Registered Nurse What’s the difference

Nurse Practitioner vs. Registered Nurse What’s the difference You’ve probably heard that nursing jobs are hot right now. And it’s true. But even within the general nursing world there are tons of specialties, so it’s important to know who does what before you commit to the career path. There are emergency nurses, pediatric nurses, travel nurses, nursing assistants, etc. You name the health care specialty, there’s probably a specific type of nurse attached. But what about nursing jobs that aren’t as clear? If you’re not yet super-familiar with different kinds of nurses, you may hear â€Å"registered nurse† and â€Å"nurse practitioner† and think that the terms are interchangeable. After all, both types of nurses work with patients to monitor their health and provide direct medical care. Let’s walk through how to tell the difference between these two important nursing careers.Prescribing medicineNurse practitioners have greater flexibility when it comes to prescribing medicine and per forming duties normally handled by physicians. Licensed nurse practitioners are legally able to prescribe medications and have greater flexibility in diagnosing and treating illnesses. Registered nurses cannot prescribe medications and often work under the direction of a physician when it comes to determining patient care and follow-up.Work environmentNurse practitioners often work in more private practice-style settings like community clinics, government agencies, nonprofits, or educational settings. A nurse practitioner may take on more of a physician-style in a clinical setting. Registered nurses typically work in hospitals or surgical clinics. Because of the nature of private clinics vs. the realities of working in a hospital, nurse practitioners often have more standard hours, while registered nurses work a greater variety of shifts.Level of educationRegistered nurses usually need a bachelor’s degree in nursing to get started in the field, but nurse practitioners typical ly hold a master’s degree or higher. This makes nurse practitioner a logical next step for nurses who’ve been in the field for a while and want to take on more of an independent leadership role. But it can also mean additional investment of time and resources in an additional degree, so it’s important to consider whether becoming a nurse practitioner is truly what you want to do.SalaryBecause of the additional education and training for nurse practitioners, salaries tend to be higher for nurse practitioners than registered nurses on average. Per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, registered nurses make a median annual salary of $68,450 per year, while nurse practitioners take home a median annual salary of $100,910.If you’re thinking about a career in nursing, both nurse practitioner and registered nurse have the potential to be great, fulfilling career options. And if you’re not sure yet which one would better suit your career goals, we have a q uiz for you to help figure out your next steps. Good luck!

Essay Sample on Online Music Purchases That Are Legitimate and Affordable

Essay Sample on Online Music Purchases That Are Legitimate and Affordable Free sample essay on Essay on Online Music Purchases: As the internet and it’s rapidly expanding business technology continues rise, the demand for â€Å"easier† ways to purchase is also increasing. The online market encompasses all forms of business from automobile parts to concert tickets. However, one of the most sought after expeditions of the webmasters is a way to sell music to listeners all while avoiding copyright infringement practices. The article I read dealt with this issue directly. Apple Computers has finally made software that allows users to purchase songs by artists for the set price of $1. The listeners also have the ability to purchase entire albums for $10. This has been a huge step because finally full albums are cheaper online than one can find in any music store. Another bonus of the software is that unlike many of its competitor’s versions, the users may use the songs to their liking after download and payment is received. In many of the other programs, the customer’s use of the songs was tracked and they could be held at fault if they burned those files to a recordable device. The program that Apple devised was given the name iTunes Music Store. It can be found at www.applemusic.com. The software also comes with precautionary settings that disallow the users to mass produce CD’s. The program automatically changes the playlist order on the CD after 10 copies have been made as a step to prevent the selling of black market albums. The online program also allows possible buyers to hear crystal-clear 30 second clips of any song before purchasing it. Then, if one chooses to buy, it is no more than a simple click of a â€Å"Buy Song† command button and that file is automatically added to your music collection. As of now, the software deals with 5 major record labels ranging from artists such as Eminem to Fleetwood Mac. It is Apple’s objective to increase their collection significantly in the next year or two, hopefully making online CD purchasing t he standard of buyable media. This software may however create some controversy, much like the illegal music shareware applications out now. Many artists have refused to sign agreements allowing their music to be sold online because many fear that this idea will flop. Although a large collection of artists have already joined the iTunes bandwagon, a dent has hardly been made in converting this popular industry to a strictly-internet based business. The odds are not completely against this software. Many people (mostly those who frequent the no-cost p2p sharing programs such as Kazaa and iMesh) are not ready to begin paying for a product that is so readily available to them with no purchasing involved. There are a huge group of these individuals across the globe and they will indefinitely be the toughest to be gained by Apple as customers. Once this setup begins to become familiar with the common user, and as the illegal programs are ousted for the realm of the WWW, many will most likely be willing to pay this minimal amount for a song of guaranteed excellent quality. This issue is very significant when relating it to the advancements made in the online market in the past few years. Not strictly music, but recently all aspects of business have in the same way been incorporated to an internet-friendly form, making purchasing â€Å"easier† for the consumer. Any individual can now order all types of products online, set reservations for airlines, and even perform all of his/her banking needs without even rising from their comfortably padded computer seat they call â€Å"home†. The music industry’s remarkable jump to the online market may be a sign that life as we know it (such as daily interaction with other individuals) is rapidly changing to a ‘Point, click, and scroll’ society. In conclusion, these steps taken by the Apple organization to devise a truly legitimate music and at the same time affordable, music sharing system may be headed in the right direction. The complexity of the situation lie in a programmer’s ability to keep consumers happy with large search engines and low prices, and at the same time ensuring artists that payouts to them will be definite. We can only sit back and wait to see how successful iTunes, the application with the most promising future in the online music industry, will truly be.

The Market Today - Essay Example Shopping today is characterised by binge shopping where marketers entice the modern consumer to shop their products in frenzy (Brown, 1993). As such, the current market is characterised by increased urge to consume not to satisfy a need by but for pleasure and in seeking identity as a postmodern consumer. Some of the characterized changes that have occurred in the market over the time could be grouped into modernism, critical and postmodernism eras, which have put different demands on than e-marketing function, as a response to evolving marketing needs and business operating environments. This paper outlines the three eras with the various changes that reshaped the marketing function and the respective environmental demands from the market that precipitated such changes. Critical thinking represented a significant step in business operations where scholars and researchers studied the contemporary organisation in finer details to understand how productivity could be improved. Winslow Fredrick Taylor, a management consultant, mainly concerned with the ways in which the output of any firm would be enhanced significantly, first developed the theory (Simmons, 2008). The central idea behind Taylors theory was to increase efficiency in the production functions within organisations. As Sedtke (2009) further explains, the theory demanded that work be divided into smaller movements that were highly regularised, resulting in a disciplined approach to functions at work. The result was breaking jobs into smaller sections leading to the separation of workers from each other and specialization of tasks (Tsukamoto, 2007).

Computer Security - Essay Example To understand the corporate motivations of the creative industry players to invest fully into DRM we must look at the implications of these technical protective measures. With the growing and wide spread advent of new digital video recording, distribution technologies, and the widespread availability of internet piracy measures of technology having a direct impact on the distribution channels and sales of these industries the critical concern faced by these corporations is the fact that they cannot compete with freely available copies of their content.
